Circular with
a raised rim and another rim 1mm inside the first containing 60,
equidistant
raised dots. The bottom half of the medal contains two crossed rifle
bullets 18mm
long above which is a 15mm diameter polar projection map with Korea,
encircled by
two olive branches.

Plain except
for the inscription in 3mm Korean characters ‘ ’ (Korea) around the
lower half of the medal and ‘ ’
(War Service
Medal) from
top centre to bottom.

Struck in one
piece an 18.5mm semi-circular ring 3mm wide to allow the ribbon to
pass
through. The portion between the medal and ring is 3mm wide containing two
raised lines
arcing from the medal to each side of the ring.

By the
Republic of Korea Government in 1951 to all United Nations personnel as
an official
medallic recognition of the significant contribution and bravery of the
United
Nations forces. Offered once again on the occasion of the 50th
anniversary of
the Korean
War in 1999, to governments that did not except it initially

Qualification |
For Belgium
personnel who did not receive the 1st issue medal - service
between the
outbreak of hostilities on 24th June
1951 and the date the armistice was signed on 27th
July 1953. Been on permanent assignment or
temporary duty for 30 consecutive days
or 60 non-consecutive days, and performed their
duty within the territorial limits of
Korea, in the waters immediately adjacent thereto
or in aerial flight over Korea
participating in actual combat operations or in
support of combat operations.
For Danish personnel who did not receive the 1st issue medal - service
between the outbreak of hostilities on 24th June 1951 and
the date the armistice was signed on 27th July 1953. Been on permanent assignment or
temporary duty for 30 consecutive days or 60 non-consecutive days, and performed their
duty within the territorial limits of Korea, in the waters immediately adjacent
